Chen Kaihua is a tenured system distinguished professor at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Associate Director of the Research Center for National Frontier S&T Integration and Innovation, and Founding Associate Editor of "Innovation and Development Policy". He has been supported by the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund in the direction of innovation management and policy. He also serves as the Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Association of Science of Science and S&T Policy Research, and Director of the Youth Working Committee.
He has presided over major projects of the National Social Science Foundation, major special projects, key projects of the Ministry of Education's Humanities and Social Sciences Research Base, major consultation projects of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (as the management leader), strategic research and consultation projects of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (as co-chair), special projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology for science and technology innovation strategy research, key subjects of decision-making consultation of the China Association for Science and Technology, and development planning projects of the National Development and Reform Commission. He has written multiple reports submitted to the General Office of the CPC Central Committee, the General Office of the State Council, and various ministries, with many of his suggestions receiving instructions from national leaders and participating in the implementation of several suggestions.
