Enhancing Government Capacity through Behavioural Insights

Content

Overview

Behavioural insights have transformed the ways in which governments around the world make policy. Government’s now build capacity for better public management and policy through the behavioural insights from economics, psychology and other social science disciplines. These insights challenge the rational assumptions of neo-classical economics, the foundation of much public policy and management. Behavioural insights show that a more comprehensive understanding of real human behaviour delivers smarter policies, saves money and can have a positive impact on society.

‘Enhancing Government Capacity through Behavioural Insights’ will expose you to cutting-edge research, case studies and the tools to apply these to your own domain. The Behavioural Insights Team’s TEST methodology - Target, Explore, Solution, Trial - provides a framework to explore and solve policy problems. The case studies will show you how behavioural insights impacted a range of policy sectors including education, energy, health, social security, taxation and many more.
