The HKUST Leadership and Public Policy Series aims to provide a new generation of globally minded leaders in government, corporate and non-profit sectors with the context and analytical tools they need to tackle the most pressing issues in public policy.
Our executive program on “Building an Innovative Economy: Smart Policies and Good Practices” consists of a series of interconnected and interactive seminars on timely topics of special interest to the region, including innovation policy, social entrepreneurship and best practices. The program brings forth the latest on policy innovations and research findings by the world’s leading experts to help understand the current situation and anticipate future developments.
By situating cutting edge practices within Asian and global contexts, participants can expect to obtain a nuanced and relevant understanding of the applicability of a broad range of innovation policies and conceptual tools that can be used to promote innovation and entrepreneurship across different policy sectors. Who Should Attend
The program is designed for senior executives and professionals in the government, non-profit and private sector, who are keen to explore the potential of technological innovation and entrepreneurship in better fulfilling the missions of their organizations. The program is well suited for senior civil servants across government agencies, as well as consultants and staff of international development agencies. Leaders from non-governmental organizations, think tanks, and corporations who are concerned with innovation and technology policy will also benefit from the program.
Training in the natural sciences is not a requirement. Program participants typically possess a broad cross-section of backgrounds, and have experience working in a variety of fields including: finance, economic and development planning, infrastructure development, industry, trade, science and technology, information and communications, education, health, environment, and regional development.
