"Leadership in Policy Development"

Overview

Public Sector Managers and policymakers are frequently confronted with decisions about whether or not to initiate, continue, modify, or terminate policies or programs, and the knowledge and skills in policy development are essential for them to make intelligent choices. The program will provide participants with knowledge and frameworks in carrying out various tasks in policy development, such as identifying policy problems, design policy solutions, and evaluating policy impacts.

 

Objectives

  • Understand the roles of public sector managers in policy development

  • Understand the importance of political, administrative and analytical capabilities in shaping policy development 

  • Learn comprehensive and multi-faceted approach to analyzing, developing, implementing, monitoring, evaluating and communicating public policies 

  • Acquire and sharpen their technical skills in each of the stages of the policy development processes  

 

Who Should Attend

The program is designed for civil servants and other public sector managers with responsibilities for developing, implementing and evaluating public policy, particularly in the areas of planning, policy analysis, project management, and monitoring/evaluation.
